Sho-Me Circuit Jackpot Walk-Trot Trail Rules 2. Entry fee is $10.00 and must be entered and paid two classes prior to Jackpot class. No refunds. 80% of entry fee goes into the jackpot payback and host club retains 20% 3. Horse must also be entered in at least 1 other performance class at the show. (i.e.: Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Speed Events, etc.) 4. Jackpot Walk Trot Trail will follow same rules as Open Trail, except exhibitors will not be asked to lope in the pattern. Below is the Open Trail Rules. 5. The host saddle club contributes $50 to the jackpot and Sho Me Circuit contributes $50 to the jackpot for a total of $100 added money. 6. Judge to place 5 places with payback to 4 places: 1 st 40%, 2 nd 30%, 3 rd 20%, 4 th 10%, 5 th ribbon. 7. No Sho Me Circuit points to be awarded in this class and it is exempt from the Sho Me Circuit 50 cent per entry charge. 8. Host club is responsible for all advertising and promotion of their Jackpot class. *Note-These rules do not restrict host clubs from having their own Jackpot classes. Rules only apply to Sho Me Circuit sponsored Jackpot classes. OPEN TRAIL- to demonstrate the useful working ability of the horse, using obstacles one would encounter in a normal day. To be judged on how well the horse responds to the rider's commands and how punctually he performs the tasks. Not how quickly, but how smoothly the team of horse and rider perform the posted pattern. Obstacles: Any SAFE obstacle may be used to demonstrate the horse's ability. Some simple standards of safe and unsafe are below: SAFE : 1. Working over poles on the ground A. Walk-over: 20"-24" between poles B. Trot-over: 3’-3’6" between poles 2. Bridge (can be as simple as a piece of plywood) 3. Gate (can use just two poles/jump standards and a rope, but must be big enough to get a horse through) 4. Side pass a pole 5. Mailbox 6. Slicker (carry from point A to B) 7. Back thru (either straight or an L); minimum of 28" wide 8. 360 degree turn in a box 5’-7’ distance 9. Walk or trot through a series of cones, 6’ minimum between cones
